  1. These are my real questions. I don’t question why something has to be done because I agree with you on that. What do your petitions do? What will happen when enough signatures are collected? Why is the “number of signatures needed” set at these magical numbers? Your petitions do not say, they allude to ‘something effective.’ I need more, as does everyone who has already signed, believing they have taken part in something really important.

    • These particular petitions were NOT authored by me. Agreed, each petition should provide adequate info on their specific goal. I have seen some petitions that have been highly effective and sent a “loud and clear” message, but some do not. I personally believe that in the end, even when the petition does not achieve the anticipated goal, that there is still something achieved-and that is to educate and spread awareness of the cause, in this case the plight of the rhino.

As far as specific numbers on petitions, that varies on each petition site, but in my experience it starts as a set number, and as more people sign, it automatically increases the goal number.

I encourage people to sign petitions (obviously after having read them) because it’s an easy way to get involved, spread the word, and perhaps inspire them to start their own petitions or letters.
      Thanks for asking Cara!
